Tri-Level Information:

TRI-LEVEL LEAGUE

Play doubles with your friends, while on a team consisting of 3 NTRP levels. The idea is that partners have the same rating and also play on a court that is assigned that same rating. (Example: one 4.0 doubles, one 3.5 doubles and one 3.0 doubles = Tri-Level team. The 4.0 doubles would play on court 1, 3.5 doubles on court 2 and 3.0 doubles on court 3.) On each court, a player’s rating can’t be higher than the rating assigned to that specific court. (Example: If court 2 is assigned a 3.5 rating level, two 3.5’s may play together, or a 3.5 and 3.0. However, a 3.5 could not play with a 4.0 because a 4.0 rating exceeds the 3.5 rating level assigned to that court.)  This socially competitive league is a great way to enjoy the camaraderie of friends in the ultimate team experience.

Guidelines

  • Each match involves 3 courts of doubles, each at a different NTRP level
  • Doubles partners are same level
  • Each court has a designated NTRP level with court 1 being highest NTRP level with descending levels on court 2 and 3 (i.e. a team consisting of 4.0, 3.5, 3.0 - court 1 would be the 4.0 court, court 2 would be the 3.5 court and court 3 would be the 3.0 court)
  • Players cannot play on a court lower than their NTRP level (i.e. a 4.0 rated player cannot play on a 3.5 court, but a 3.0 player can play on a 3.5 court)
  • Minimum age is 18 years old
  • NTRP based – valid computer or self-rating required
  • USTA membership required
  • Register and report results through TennisLink

Teams must have a minimum of 6 players, 2 eligible to play at each

          designated level on the team

General Overview

  •  A team match consists of 3 individual doubles matches: one doubles match at each NTRP level of the team
  • Teams must have a minimum of 6 players,  2 at each designated level
  • Play format: 2 out of 3 sets with 10-point match tiebreak for the 3rd set
  • Players may play at their NTRP rated level or higher
  • Results will be calculated in year-end NTRP computer ratings
